How Municipal Court Warrants Work
A municipal warrant grows out of a city-ordinance case, a city citation, a traffic matter, or a failure to appear in a city court. Tahlequah's municipal page states plainly that its court hears city-ordinance violations only. Hulbert's town office handles its municipal citations and sets the docket. None of this is a Cherokee County District Court case, and the two systems do not share a file. One trap deserves a warning. OSCN's traffic-citation field covers district court alone and expressly excludes municipal citations, so a clean OSCN result says nothing about a city court warrant. The only reliable answer comes from asking the issuing municipal clerk directly.

The Tahlequah Municipal Court source states its city-ordinance jurisdiction and local contact path.
Municipal Courts Across Cherokee County
Two incorporated places in Cherokee County offer a local municipal route. Tahlequah is the larger city. Hulbert is the smaller incorporated town. Their court times, payment vendors, and record contacts all differ.
| City or town | Municipal route | Warrant question | Phone |
|---|---|---|---|
| Tahlequah | Municipal Court, 111 S Cherokee | City ordinance, traffic, FTA, FTP | 918-456-9472 |
| Hulbert | Town office, 111 W Main listed by town | Municipal citation and court schedule | 918-772-2165 |
Hulbert's older court event page lists 111 E Main. Confirm the current entrance before you drive out. No third incorporated Cherokee County city exists on the municipal list.
Cherokee County Municipal Warrant Checks
Call the issuing court before anything else. Tahlequah Municipal Court publishes 918-456-9472, in-person and phone routes, and an Xpress Bill Pay link. Ask the clerk three things: whether a citation carries an outstanding warrant, whether a court appearance is required, and whether a payment will recall the order. Hulbert routes its citation processing through the town office at 918-772-2165 and links to TrafficPayment. The Sheriff's Office at 918-456-2583 may have service information, but it is not the city court's status system. The county Open Records form can seek an existing record, yet it cannot make a municipal judge recall a warrant or build a citywide roster. For any Cherokee County municipal warrant check, the clerk who answers the phone holds the real answer.

The City of Tahlequah home page links its municipal court and payment paths. A link is not proof of current warrant status in Cherokee County.
Municipal Warrants: What They Show
A city warrant record may list the municipality, the case or citation number, an ordinance or traffic description, the missed event, and the financial terms. It may also note the warrant type. Later entries can show payment, recall, service, or a court event. Each Cherokee County city codes its records its own way.
| City court | Tahlequah Municipal Court or Hulbert municipal court. |
|---|---|
| Citation | City ordinance, municipal traffic, or related case number. |
| Basis | Missed appearance, failure to pay, or another local court order. |
| Financial entry | Balance, payment, service cost, bond, or waiver when recorded. |
| Current status | Ask the city clerk whether the warrant is active, served, recalled, or closed. |
Do not publish names, photographs, addresses, or a municipal roster from a public page.
Clearing a Municipal Court Warrant
Payment, recall, reset, walk-in, and court appearance are not the same thing. The issuing municipal court decides which option applies. Tahlequah publishes 6 p.m. arraignment dates and 9 a.m. trial dates. Hulbert's office page says court runs every third Tuesday at 4:30 p.m. Confirm the current schedule with the Cherokee County clerk involved.
Before paying: ask whether the payment vendor changes warrant status, whether an appearance remains due, and whether the city court must enter a separate order.
OCCA Form 13.17e is a generic municipal Cost Arrest Warrant form. It carries release-on-payment language and a hearing route within 72 hours. That does not prove either Cherokee County city uses every field or term. Ask the local clerk.
Tahlequah Municipal Court Warrants
Tahlequah Municipal Court lists Judge Rachel Dallis, Court Clerk Mandy King, and Deputy Clerk Hannah Cavin, at 111 S Cherokee Avenue, 918-456-9472, plus the city court email. The court handles city-ordinance cases only. The police directory lists 100 Phoenix Avenue and 918-456-8801, but no public warrant portal exists there. The city code host describes how municipal citations and warrant records are maintained. That language helps identify which record to ask for, but the clerk remains the source for current status and relief in this corner of Cherokee County.

The Tahlequah code source is a legal reference. Check it for the current version before relying on any provision.
Hulbert Municipal Court Warrants
Hulbert's Office Clerk, Kim Gifford, processes municipal citations and schedules court. The town lists 111 W Main, 918-772-2165, and court every third Tuesday at 4:30 p.m. The police page gives daytime 918-772-2020, after-hours 918-456-2583 through the county Sheriff, and 911 for emergencies. No public Hulbert warrant search, active list, or municipal roster exists. The town's TrafficPayment link is a payment path, not a status database. Ask the town office whether the account has an order and what action the judge requires.

The Hulbert Office Clerk source gives the local citation and scheduling role.
Fresh Start and Cherokee County Municipal Warrants
Tahlequah's 2026 Fresh Start page is current but sparse. Its full terms are not stated in text. A 2024 city agenda described a prior program for outstanding citations and FTA or FTP warrants. That program used a half-payment, half-waiver model during a defined period. Old terms cannot be applied automatically to 2026, so check before counting on a Cherokee County amnesty.

The current city program page should be confirmed with Municipal Court. That way no Cherokee County reader relies on an unverified deadline or waiver.
Payment and Cherokee County Municipal Warrants
Xpress Bill Pay and TrafficPayment may accept city payments. Neither vendor publishes live warrant fields, convenience fees, or automatic court updates. A payment can satisfy part of a balance while a court appearance or order remains due.

The municipal payment source is a route named by an official town page. It is not a warrant database for any Cherokee County court.
Municipal Warrant Records and Access
Oklahoma's Open Records Act, 51 O.S. ยงยง24A.1 et seq., opens most public records to you, though statutes and court orders can limit what gets released. Want a copy of a citation, warrant return, policy, or fee record? Ask the city or town directly, and name the agency, dates, and case number to speed things up. Juvenile, sealed, and protected data may be withheld. The Cherokee County Court Clerk holds state district-court files, and the County Clerk keeps general county records. For a city warrant, though, the local municipal clerk is still your stop.
Cherokee County Municipal Warrant Terms
Local labels help prevent a wrong turn.

- Cost arrest warrant

Use the city's own wording. When you call about a Cherokee County municipal warrant, don't borrow another state's capias terms.
